This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Norway, Maine is located in the southeastern section of Oxford County. Most people pass through the region on the way to Sunday River, but it's Lake Pennesseewasse is a destination of its own. Norway has been called the "Snowshoe Capital of the World" because of local shoe manufacturing. It is currently home to a New Balance manufacturing facility. Most recent census data shows that 5077 people call this beautiful town home. Fire Rescue services are provided by a 35-member call department under the supervision of a full-time Fire Chief. They operate with three pumpers, one tower ladder, one tanker, and a squad. A new Pierce Saber has been ordered to replace thirty-year-old Engine 2. Emergency Medical Services for the town are provided by Pace Ambulance. Both agencies are dispatched by the Oxford County RCC.
