Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Reports 998 Calls Through August

According to the department's monthly activity report, Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue responded to 159 service requests in August, for a total of 998 calls so far this year.

92 EMS and rescue/extrication replies, 38 service or good-intent calls, 24 inadvertent alarms, four fire calls, and one hazardous-condition response were among the calls made in August.

36 fire calls, 578 EMS and rescue/extrication calls, 218 service or good-intent calls, 140 inadvertent alarms, and 22 hazardous-condition reports were all reported by the department at the end of August. The 998 total is less than the 1,060 calls that were made at this time last year.

Fire prevention personnel completed 17 activities in August, including eight inspections, three certificates of occupancy and six plans reviews or permits issued. Year to date, the department has completed 148 fire prevention activities.

Training also remained a focus, with 12 staff training hours recorded in August and 1,590 hours reported for the year.

The department also reported 40 ambulance transports in August, bringing the 2026 total to 239. One of the month's highlights was Ambulance 2 passing its New Hampshire Bureau of EMS inspection and being placed in service on August 10.
