Bethany Firefighters Finished Regional Training Program

Bethany, CT — August 14 — The Bethany Volunteer Fire Department honored five new firefighters for successfully completing the Valley Fire Chiefs Regional Training School’s Firefighter I program.Jake, Kevin, Chris, Lina, and Danny finished the program after starting their training in May.
The course involved both classroom learning and practical experience, giving participants the chance to practice essential skills needed for entry-level firefighting.
The program served fire departments across the Valley and provided regional firefighter education.According to state records, the Valley Fire Chiefs Training School is one of Connecticut’s regional fire academies, supporting communities such as Bethany, Ansonia, Derby, Orange, Oxford, Seymour, Shelton, and Woodbridge.
Lina Viviana Cortez Frazer was named valedictorian of the class.
This recognition added to her accomplishments as a member of the Bethany Fire Department.
The Bethany Fire Department continues to run training programs that help its members build skills in firefighting and emergency medical services.
The department also operates a youth program that introduces young people to fire and EMS training.
