Ansonia Expanded Its Vehicle Rescue Capabilities

The Ansonia Fire Department placed a new battery-powered extrication tool into service on September 8 in Ansonia, Connecticut, expanding firefighters' capabilities during vehicle rescue operations.
The equipment was assigned to Eagle Hose & Hook and Ladder Company, home to Engine 6 and Truck 7. The cordless tool provides crews with another option for cutting and spreading during incidents involving trapped occupants.
The addition is part of ongoing efforts to improve the department's rescue capabilities. Department officials thanked the Board of Fire Commissioners for its continued support in obtaining new equipment.
