BROCKPORT, NY — August 11, 2026 — The Brockport Fire District hosted National Grid at its training grounds on Owens Road for an electrical safety drill designed to help firefighters recognize and manage hazards they may encounter while responding to emergencies.

National Grid brought its live-line demonstration trailer to the training grounds, giving Brockport firefighters an opportunity to observe simulated electrical hazards in a controlled training environment. The practical presentation emphasized the significance of identifying electrified risks prior to firefighters starting operations and concentrated on scenarios involving electrical infrastructure. For first responders, National Grid offers electrical and natural gas safety training that includes instruction on power lines and other utility-related risks.

The Brockport Fire District serves the local community with emergency medical care, motor vehicle accident response, fire prevention, and fire protection from a number of stations, including Station Five on Owens Road.
