Chazy Firefighters Conduct Hands-On Rescue Equipment Training

CHAZY, NY — August 3, 2026 — On Monday nite, members of the Chazy Volunteer Fire Department had an internal training session that concentrated on the usage of rescue jacks, commonly called struts, and heavy-duty rescue air bags.


Lieutenant Alex Sterling oversaw the ninety-minute course, which included actual evolutions including several rescue scenarios as well as equipment familiarization.


The training was attended by eighteen volunteer firemen. According to the department, the focus of the workshop was on hands-on learning, giving participants the opportunity to interact directly with the equipment and experience using it in safe situations.


Firefighters can learn how to use stabilization and lifting equipment before a situation arises.on the circumstances of an incident.
