ANGOLA, N.Y. — August 4 — Autumn Pruchnicki successfully fulfilled the requirements to earn cleared Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) status, representing another milestone in her emergency medical services (EMS) training and her service to the community.

This accomplishment was acknowledged by the Angola Volunteer Fire Department, which was the first emergency response agency involved in the situation.

Pruchnicki’s attainment of AEMT clearance came after completing extra education and training beyond the basic EMT level.

The Erie County AEMT program mandated students to complete required skill stations and pass a written exam before being certified.

For emergency service professionals, this additional training signifies a greater level of knowledge and ability to provide patient care in prehospital settings.

AEMTs are trained to offer care that goes beyond the EMT level, while following New York State EMS protocols and the medical direction of their respective agencies.

The department’s commendation highlighted Pruchnicki’s commitment, effort, and dedication to serving the local residents.
