NORTH TONAWANDA, NY — August 2 — North Tonawanda Professional Firefighters Local 1333 welcomed Allison Hubert as their newest professional firefighter after she transferred laterally from the City of Batavia Fire Department.

Hubert was given badge number 107 and was set to finish in-house training before being placed in Platoon 2.

North Tonawanda Fire Chief Doug Orlowski stated that this appointment marked a new phase in Hubert's career and made her the first female professional firefighter in the department's history.

Hubert had prior experience in both fire and emergency medical services.

In 2025, Orleans/Niagara BOCES recognized her as a full-time firefighter/paramedic with the City of Batavia Fire Department.She also worked as an EMS instructor intern, which gave her experience in both emergency response and training.

Local news outlet WLVL also reported on August 5 that Hubert had joined the North Tonawanda Fire Department through a lateral transfer from Batavia.

North Tonawanda Professional Firefighters Local 1333 represents the city's career firefighters and has an established collective bargaining agreement with the city.

For the department, Hubert’s arrival added a seasoned firefighter and paramedic to the team, while also marking a significant milestone in the department's history.

Her assignment to Platoon 2 came after completing the department’s required in-house orientation and training.
