FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ — July 27, 2026 — The Frankford Township Fire Department is recognizing firefighter Kristy Peer as part of its ongoing member spotlight series, highlighting her more than 15 years of service to the department and community.

Peer joined the department in 2009 alongside her husband, current FTFD Captain 1 Mark Peer, according to the department's July 27 profile.

Since joining, Peer has taken on several responsibilities within the organization. In addition to serving as an active firefighter, she works as the department's assistant treasurer, helping manage the organization's financial responsibilities.

Before concentrating on fire operations, Peer also served as an EMT and first responder, according to the department.

Her involvement extends beyond emergency response. The department describes Peer as someone who regularly supports family, school and community activities and often helps organize events and bring people together.

Additionally, the Peer family has become close to the Frankford fire department. The agency claims that Mark and Kristy have been serving together for over 15 years, and that relationship has been maintained via the department by other family members.

Members who support volunteer fire companies both during emergencies and in the background are crucial to their continued operation. The department's capacity to sustain its reaction capabilities is influenced by administrative tasks, member mentorship, event preparation, and recruiting assistance.

Kristy B. Peer was already listed as a Frankford Township Fire Department delegate in 2017, according to documents from the New Jersey State Firemen's Association, offering independent proof of her long-standing membership in the group.
