RIVERDALE, NJ — August 21, 2026 — Members of the Riverdale Fire Department continued the department's relationship with a company that has supported its community initiatives by attending the grand reopening of the neighborhood Walmart on Friday.

According to the department, Ladder 31 and Squad 33 represented the fire service during the event.

Prior to the event, Walmart of Riverdale contributed cases of water to help fund the department's next Cornhole Fundraiser, which will take place at the Riverdale firehouse on Saturday, August 29.

The Walmart shop may be found in Riverdale at 48 State Route 23. The August 21 visit also gave firefighters an opportunity to interact with local residents in a setting away from emergency calls and to promote the department's upcoming fundraiser.

The Cornhole Fundraiser will take place at the firehouse on August 29, according to the department's announcement.
