HARVEY CEDARS, NJ — July 26 — Firefighters from the High Point Volunteer Fire Company went to Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars on July 26 after the Barnegat Light First Aid Squad asked for help to set up a landing area for a medical evacuation helicopter.

The High Point Volunteer Fire Company, based at 10 West 80th Street in Harvey Cedars, sent members to assist with the landing zone operation.

The department is a volunteer-run fire company that provides services to Harvey Cedars and nearby communities like Loveladies and North Beach.

Firefighters identified as 5101 and 5107 were present at the scene, as noted in the incident report.

The operation included setting up and keeping the landing area at Sunset Park safe for the incoming medical helicopter.

Landing zone assignments are an important part of the work done by fire and emergency medical services because crews need to create and maintain a controlled area for the aircraft while ensuring that people, vehicles, and other dangers are kept away from the landing site.

The July 26 response was requested by the Barnegat Light First Aid Squad.

High Point firefighters helped prepare the scene to ensure the medical transport operation could take place safely.
