Flags High, Boots Tight: Perth Amboy Honor Guard Brings Home Elite Training
Perth Amboy, NJ - Perth Amboy Fire Department’s Honor Guard recently took a major step in professional development, with four members attending the National Honor Guard Academy hosted at the Connecticut Fire Academy.
In Middlesex County during the week of training on July 31, Firefighters Manuel Garabito, Jonathan Rodriguez, Ryan Bromirski, and Victor Breton participated in an intensive five-day program focused on the full scope of honor guard operations. Training included basic marching discipline, proper flag presentation, ceremonial procedures, and advanced instruction covering line-of-duty death funeral services and formal departmental honors.
Throughout the academy, members were immersed in precision drills and ceremonial standards designed to uphold the highest level of respect and professionalism in fire service traditions. The training emphasized attention to detail, teamwork, and the importance of representing the department and fallen members with dignity.
The department extended appreciation to the instructors and staff at the National Honor Guard Academy and Connecticut Fire Academy for hosting and delivering the program.
