Perth Amboy, NJ - Perth Amboy Fire Department spent the week engaging with local summer camps and daycare centers across the city, delivering fire safety education through interactive demonstrations, station tours, and hands-on learning activities designed to teach children how to stay safe in and around emergencies.

In Middlesex County on July 28, firefighters welcomed campers to Fire Headquarters, where they were given an up-close look at fire apparatus, protective gear, and the tools used during emergency responses. Crews took time to explain daily operations, teamwork on the fireground, and the importance of fire prevention in a way that was both educational and engaging for younger audiences.

Firefighters also conducted safety talks covering basic fire prevention tips, emergency calling procedures, and what to do in case of smoke or fire inside a home or building. The sessions were designed to be interactive, allowing children to ask questions and participate in demonstrations while learning life-saving information.

Alongside educational activities, crews assisted with cooling support during visits at headquarters and off-site locations, helping ensure children remained comfortable and safe during warm summer conditions while particpating in outdoor activities.

These outreach efforts were supported by the City of Perth Amboy, Mayor Caba, the Perth Amboy Fire Officers Asociation, and the Perth Amboy Professional Firefighters Association, all working together to strengthen community relations and promote fire prevention awareness.
