HIGHTSTOWN, NJ — August 12, 2026 — America's 9/11 Ride, an annual motorcycle commemoration that travels through the boro as riders head toward New York City, continues to get support from Hightstown citizens and firefighters.

With locals lining Main Street and waving American flags as the cyclists came through town, Hightstown Engine Company No. 1 posted pictures and a statement acknowledging the community's participation.

The official 2026 ride schedule indicates that the New Jersey part of the ride will pass through Hightstown on Saturday, August 22, while the post was made on August 12. From Barb's Harley-Davidson, the bikers are supposed to go via Mercer Street and New Jersey Route 33 before heading toward Linden and, eventually, New York City.

America's 9/11 Ride is in its 26th year in 2026 and is centered on remembering the victims and first responders of September 11, 2001. The ride connects major September 11 sites, including the Flight 93 National Memorial, the Pentagon and the World Trade Center site. Organizers expect roughly 700 motorcycles this year.

Hightstown has been part of the ride's route for years. The borough has previously adopted formal resolutions supporting the event and recognizing its importance to the community.

For firefighters, EMS personnel and law enforcement officers, the ride provides an opportunity to recognize the emergency responders who died on September 11 while also supporting the next generation of public-safety families. America's 9/11 Foundation reports that the ride has helped fund college scholarships for children of first responders as well as donations to emergency-service organizations.
