Four Basking Ridge Members Completed Firefighter I

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Aug. 3 — Four members of Basking Ridge Fire Co.No.1 & EMS were honored for completing the Firefighter I training during the spring and summer.
Ken, Dave, Jaimee, and Kyro successfully finished the challenging training while managing their jobs, studies, family life, and other obligations.
The fire company acknowledged their commitment to the training and to the organization.
Firefighter I training serves as the foundation for entry-level structural firefighting.
In New Jersey, the certification process includes required Firefighter I and hazardous materials training, along with state exams that cover the knowledge and skills needed to safely perform firefighter duties.
For volunteer firefighters, completing this training requires a major time investment beyond emergency response duties.
The four members devoted their time to attending classes, participating in hands-on training, and fulfilling other necessary requirements to obtain their certification.
By finishing Firefighter I, they added trained personnel to the company’s volunteer team and took an important step in their growth as emergency responders.
