Secaucus Welcomes Three New Firefighters

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Three new firefighters were sworn in during the Secaucus Mayor and Town Council meeting on July 28.

Firefighters Jeffry Paulino Diaz and Brandon J. Edwards, both assigned to Chicora Park Engine Company No. 3, and Firefighter Arda Arli, assigned to Rescue Company No. 1/Engine Company No. 2, have joined the crew.

Prior to taking the oath of office, the firefighters completed the Bergen County Fire Academy's Firefighter I training. The department requires all members to attend a state-certified fire academy and finish the Firefighter I course, followed by ongoing education and department training.

Secaucus Fire Department's current roster confirms Diaz and Edwards as members of Engine Company 3. The department's Engine 2/Rescue 1 roster identifies the company as Rescue Company No. 1/Engine Company No. 2, the assignment listed for Arli in the department announcement.

Town records show Arli was accepted as a probationary member of the Secaucus Volunteer Fire Department in October 2025.

The department operates as a volunteer organization and has five fire companies, with Engine 3 based at 146 Centre Avenue and Rescue Company No. 1/Engine Company No. 2 based at 1561 Paterson Plank Road. The Secaucus Fire Department welcomed Diaz, Edwards and Arli and wished them safe and successful careers in the fire service.
