On Wednesday, September 23, Clayton emergency services will join locals in Autumn Pasquale Park for a combined National Nite Out and Fire Prevention Nite.

The Clayton Police Department and Clayton Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 are sponsoring the event, which will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. The flier for the event highlights the evening as a chance for locals to interact with police and firefighters, participate in safety demonstrations and displays, and learn about fire safety.

In addition, the event will have family-friendly activities that will allow emergency workers to engage with locals outside of emergency situations.

For the fire service, community events provide an important opportunity to discuss prevention measures, answer questions and demonstrate equipment and safety practices in a non-emergency setting. The event's theme, “Community • Safety • Partnership,” reflects that focus.

The Borough of Clayton's official calendar also lists National Night Out & Fire Prevention Night for September 23 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Clayton Volunteer Fire Company posted the announcement on its official website on August 4, 2026, inviting residents to attend the combined event.

Clayton Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 is a fully volunteer organization. The company's official history states that it operates from 107 West High Street with more than 40 members and four pieces of apparatus, responding to approximately 300 calls for service each year.

Residents are encouraged to attend the September event and meet the emergency-service personnel who serve the Clayton community.
