Teaneck, NJ - On August 6 in Bergen County, the Teaneck Firefighters FMBA Local 42 participated in the annual National Night Out event, engaging with the community as part of public safety outreach efforts.

A highlight of the event was the involvement of “future responders,” as children and young community members took part in interactive demonstrations designed to introduce them to the role of emergency services. Firefighters provided fire safety education, hands-on activities, and opportunities to explore basic firefighting concepts in an engaging and safe environment.

Attendees were also able to experience activities such as spraying water at a demonstration setup and viewing equipment used in vehicle extrication operations. Crews demonstrated tools and explained techniques used during emergency response incidents, helping build awareness of fire and rescue operations.

The event strengthened community engagement and encouraged interest in public safety careers, while fostering positive connections between firefighters and local residents.
