GRAND ISLE, VT — August 19 — Firefighters from the Grand Isle Volunteer Fire Department spent the evening engaging in hose-line operations as part of a training session at their station on Hyde Road.During the exercise, the crews worked on advancing and managing a charged hose line, practicing how to operate the nozzle and maintain control of the line.These hands-on drills allow firefighters to refine their positioning, communication, and teamwork before facing real-life fire situations.

Established in 1951, the Grand Isle Volunteer Fire Department has been serving the community by providing emergency services.

Their responsibilities include structural firefighting, vehicle extrication, hazardous materials response, handling wildland fires, and conducting water and ice rescues.

The department remains committed to regular training to ensure its volunteer firefighters are well-prepared for a variety of emergency calls.
