Brattleboro Recruits Completed Special Operations Training

Brattleboro, VT. — July 30 — As part of its ongoing orientation program, the Brattleboro Fire Department continues to train new recruits in fire, emergency medical services, and special operations. The second week's topics included daily station operations, hydrants, personal protection equipment, and apparatus checks. Medical equipment, patient care scenarios, and EMS protocols were the main topics of the third week.


In the fourth week, trainees received training in rope operations, machinery rescue, vehicle extrication, ring removal, and confined-space awareness. Specialized abilities utilized in complex emergency situations were introduced during the course. Before the new members were given shifts and started working regularly with the department alongside seasoned firefighters, the last week of orientation was planned to wrap up the curriculum.
