Dummerston, Vt. — July 23 — Carleton "Charlie" Richardson, a lifelong volunteer firefighter, passed away at home on July 21 at the age of 91, leaving the Dummerston Fire Department in mourning. From 1975 until 1996, Richardson was a member of the West Dummerston Volunteer Fire Department.

He started out as a firefighter and rose through the ranks to become 9M2's captain. Later, he worked as a fire warden for the community until the 2010s. Throughout his time in Dummerston, Richardson continued to be involved in community service and worked as a forester.
