This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Wernersville, PA. — July 25 — Automatic aid partners from Township of Spring Fire Rescue Services participated in practical training with the Western Berks Fire Department. A fire alarm demonstration trailer and sprinkler system were provided for the event by Commonwealth Fire Protection. Firefighters went over how fire prevention systems worked, how they safeguarded structures, and what emergency response workers may anticipate.

Members had hands-on familiarity with equipment they might come across during calls thanks to the training. Western Berks served a number of nearby municipalities and was based at 111 Stitzer Ave. in Wernersville. The department receives frequent training in rescue, firefighting, and other emergency procedures. Coordination between nearby fire departments during emergency situations was also facilitated by the combined session.
