Fleetwood, PA. — August 4 — During operations on August 4, the Fleetwood Fire Company performed many roof rescues. Crews took a straightforward approach to the assignments, concentrating on safe access and doing the task. Operating out of 16 N. Chestnut St., the company provided fire, rescue, and QRS coverage to Fleetwood Boro and the adjacent areas. The department functioned as a volunteer fire company and was known as Berks County Station 45.

When asked, the organization also offered mutual aid assistance to neighboring departments. The August 4 operations made clear how important it is to have trained crews and actual rescue skills for regular emergency tasks.
