Morning Commute Collision at York and Shealer Roads Draws Multi-Agency Response

Gettysburg, PA - Emergency personnel responded to the busy York Road corridor during the morning commute Tuesday following a multi-vehicle collision that disrupted local traffic.


At approximately 8:23 a.m. on September 15, 2026, the Gettysburg Fire Department and Adams Regional EMS were dispatched to the intersection of York Road and Shealer Road for a reported multi-vehicle crash. Chief 1 arrived on scene and immediately established York Road Command, initiating a primary size-up and coordinating incoming apparatus.


Responders assessed the involved motorists, confirming that those injured sustained minor injuries that were treated on scene and evaluated by EMS personnel. Fire crews managed fluid leaks and secured vehicle batteries to eliminate roadway hazards.


Gettysburg Fire Police maintained an extended presence at the intersection, working alongside the Pennsylvania State Police to divert traffic and ensure responder safety until towing services cleared the wreckage and the roadway fully reopened.
