New Galilee, PA. — July 17 — Fire police officer John Kimmel was honored on his birthday by the New Beaver Boro Volunteer Fire Department. Kimmel had continued to work with the department as a fire police officer, assisting with traffic management and responding to emergencies. By protecting responders and controlling traffic around disaster scenes, fire police officers played a crucial support role during fire and rescue incidents.

Serving the New Beaver Boro and its environs, the department was based at 898 Wampum-New Galilee Road. Members of the department had the chance to recognize Kimmel's birthday and his ongoing commitment to the volunteer fire department.
