Midland, PA. — July 29 — Maintaining firefighter skills and disaster preparedness was the main emphasis of a training nite held by Midland Volunteer Fire Department Station 95. During the program, participants strengthened teamwork in a controlled environment, reviewed processes, and practiced using equipment. Volunteer firefighters were better equipped to handle medical, rescue, and fire situations when they received regular training.

The boro was served by the separately chartered Midland Volunteer Fire Department, which offered first responder assistance and fire services. Operating out of 936 Midland Avenue, the department provided round-the-clock assistance. The department's emphasis on keeping members ready for emergency operations and sustaining efficient response capabilities in Midland and the neighboring areas was maintained during the training session.
