Monaca, PA. — July 27 — Following their completion of the Essentials of Firefighting and Structural Burn training, Cassandra Monahan and Kristen Cook were recognized by Monaca Fire. The curriculum prepared firefighters for structural fire operations by combining classroom instruction with practical training. Practical skills required for safe interior fireground operations and live-fire situations were covered in the course.

Their completion reinforced the department's emphasis on operational readiness and bolstered its pool of qualified firemen. As part of their ongoing professional growth in the fire department, Monahan and Cook finished the program. Their training gave them additional experience that could help Monaca Fire and the local community with emergency responses and operations in the future.
