The Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Company experienced a hectic 24-hour shift that included joint training, department business, and emergency responses.
Crews were called to an interstate car accident on Tuesday morning. Members then participated in a joint training session with Maplewood Fire Company after attending their monthly business meeting.
Later that nite, workers in Elmhurst Township responded to a reported structure fire caused by an electrical problem. Members were called to a car rollover on Archbald Mountain Road early in the morning.
Residents were reminded that volunteers 14 years of age and older are welcome to join, and the department praised its members for their ongoing commitment. There is no need for prior expertise, and training is free.
