Pittsburgh, PA. — July 26 — Highland Volunteer Fire Department and Stowe Township VFD helped Berkeley Hills Fire Company finish aerial operations. While Berkeley Hills' aerial unit was out for maintenance, the departments supported the apparatus. While their usual equipment was unavailable, Berkeley Hills firemen were able to continue performing aerial operations thanks to the training.
During the session, crews practiced synchronization, equipment installation, and ladder positioning. When equipment is being serviced, fire departments can maintain operational preparedness and training thru mutual aid and equipment sharing. The temporary assistance was utilized by Berkeley Hills Fire Company to maintain staff familiarity with aerial operations and equipment. To finish the course effectively and safely, the departments collaborated.
