Pittsburgh, PA. — July 21 — At its July 21 business meeting, the Highland Volunteer Fire Department swore in two new firefighters. Jason Singer became a fireman after serving the department wherever he could after joining Highland as an associate member in February. Due to a family connection to the department thru his father, Matt Wagner, Alex Wagner was also sworn in as a probationary fireman.

Following the ceremony, both members started their probationary training. As they get ready for emergency reactions, the procedure will give them training and experience. As the department proceeded to find, organize, and educate volunteers for fire and emergency response operations, Singer and Wagner joined Highland's volunteer ranks.
