Pittsburgh, PA. — July 9 — Albert "John" Welch, often known as "Soupy," was a Life Member and former Secretary who was honored by the Green Tree Volunteer Fire Company. Welch began working for the corporation in 1971 and spent more than 20 years as a department secretary. He continued to promote the business and its members for years after resigning as secretary. Welch continued to be involved in the department's operations and activities.

Members acknowledged his long-standing dedication to Green Tree Boro and the Green Tree Volunteer Fire Company. After Welch passed away, the department sent condolences to Debby, his wife, and the Welch family as a whole. Members commemorated his service.
