Advanced Water Supply Training Highlights TurboDraft Capabilities

Tremont, ME - The Tremont Volunteer Fire Department conducted training focused on advanced water supply techniques using static water sources.

Firefighters practiced both traditional drafting methods and the use of a recently implemented TurboDraft fire eductor system, which allows crews to access water sources at significantly greater distances. The system utilizes a pressurized discharge line to create a vacuum, returning water through large-diameter hose to the engine and delivering high-volume flow.

During the training, crews operated multiple hoselines and master streams while refining pump operations, including pressure control and flow management. The TurboDraft system enhanced operational flexibility, allowing apparatus to be positioned in safer locations while expanding available water supply options.
