Single-Vehicle Rollover Was Reported in Standish

Standish, ME — September 3 — Standish Fire-EMS responded around 4:05 p.m.to a single-vehicle rollover at the intersection of Oakhill Road and Boundary Road.

When the crews arrived, they found a truck that had been driving west on Boundary Road before leaving the road on the right side.

The truck hit a guardrail, went airborne, and rolled, hitting several trees before coming to rest more than 70 feet down an embankment.

The driver was not seriously injured but was still trapped inside the vehicle.

Fire and EMS personnel worked to safely remove the driver from the truck.

Once the driver was freed, crews set up a pulley system to move the patient up the embankment to the road.

An ambulance was waiting at the scene to provide further medical care and transport.

The incident involved both vehicle extrication and moving the patient across difficult terrain.

The crews coordinated the operation to reach the vehicle, remove the driver, and bring the patient back to the roadway.
