Warren, VT. — July 8 — To improve rural firefighting skills, the Warren Vol. Fire Dept. held a practical water shuttle training exercise. During a simulated fire response, firefighters rehearsed transferring water from a tanker to a portable dump tank, where it was dispersed to other apparatus. Timing, coordination, and ensuring a steady supply of water in places without fire hydrants were the key topics of the simulation.
For a large portion of Warren, where tanker operations are the main source of water for fire suppression, water shuttle activities are crucial. Frequent training enhances productivity, fosters teamwork, and keeps firemen prepared for structural fires and other community emergencies.
