Burlington, VT - The Burlington Vermont Fire Department conducted water rescue training for recruits from Class 26-01, focusing on essential skills for both swiftwater and stillwater rescue operations.

Recruits practiced land-based techniques, including throw bag deployment, while also working through stillwater rescue scenarios involving swimmers in distress. The hands-on training provided an opportunity to develop proper rescue techniques, improve coordination, and build confidence in operating around the water.

Continued training in these areas helps prepare firefighters to respond safely and effectively to water-related emergencies and perform rescues under challenging conditions.
