Orleans, MA. — July 16 — Ned Brigham, a firefighter and paramedic, graduated as a member of Class 340 from the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Career Recruit Firefighter Academy. He finished the academy's 10-week training program in Stow, where candidates were taught structural firefighting, search and rescue, hazardous materials awareness, emergency medical response, and firefighter safety in addition to receiving classroom education.

After graduating, Brigham was expected to return to work for the Town of Orleans at Orleans Fire-Rescue, located at 58 Eldredge Park Way. With another fireman trained to Massachusetts standards, his graduation from the state academy improved the department's operational readiness.
