This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Mashpee, MA. — July 10 — The Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills (COMM) Fire & Rescue Department commemorated 100 years of service with station coverage from the Mashpee Fire Department, located at 20 Frank Hicks Drive. While emergency coverage was maintained, the assignment permitted COMM staff to take part in centennial events. Because Cape Cod departments have strong mutual aid relationships, the Sandwich Fire Department also provided assistance.

Since its founding in 1926, COMM has provided fire suppression, emergency medical care, rescue, and fire prevention services to the villages of Centerville, Osterville, and Marstons Mills. The celebration honored a century of service and emphasized the regional collaboration that enabled continuous emergency response for nearby areas.
