On July 18, Lt. Maher and Firefighters Colaianni, Ferreri, T. Silva, and Wright received a Lifesaving Award from the Seekonk Fire Department in recognition of their efforts to save the life of a woman who had a sudden cardiac attack while visiting Seekonk.
The patient's pulse was eventually restored when the firefighters started performing excellent CPR right away and gave advanced life support for over half an hour. Afterwards, the woman was released from the hospital without any neurological impairments.
The Seekonk Police Department and Seekonk Public Safety Communications' support during the incident was also acknowledged by the department.
