This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Rockland, ME — July 19 — Prior to the Sunday Stroll, Camden Fire & Rescue, located at 31 Washington Street, participated in a regional ladder truck training exercise on Main Street alongside Rockland Fire & EMS and Thomaston Fire & EMS. In a controlled setting, firefighters practiced coordinated setup, placement, and communication while setting up three aerial vehicles. The exercise improved coordination of mutual help and reaffirmed protocols for situations involving several ladder companies.

In addition to enhancing departmental interoperability, joint training gave crews useful experience using specialized equipment in a downtown environment. These kinds of drills guarantee that firefighters are always ready to collaborate during complicated emergency situations throughout the area.
