Websterville, VT. — July 12 — In order to improve collaboration, balance, and rope abilities, the Barre Town Fire Department, located at 149 Websterville Road, held a training exercise at the Upper Websterville Playground. As part of a prearranged simulation, firefighters and fire apparatus assembled at the park, and officials verified that the activity was not an emergency. Crews practiced movement, coordination, and communication skills that can aid in technical rescue operations by using the playground equipment in a controlled environment.

In addition to strengthening safe operating procedures, training in a public setting helps firefighters get ready for a variety of reaction scenarios. The exercise also demonstrated the department's dedication to upholding preparedness through frequent, practical community training.
