Over 60 Members of the Limerick Fire Department (station 51) Upper Salford Fire (station 78) and Skippack Fire Company (station 86) met at Spring Mount for a joint UTV/ATV & low angle rescue training. UTV/ATV driver/operators familiarized themselves with the equipment and traversed a course for driving certification. Other members rotated through low angle rescue scenarios utilizing pickets and setting up haul lines. "Patients" were then packed and "removed" from the mountain. Being able to simulate real life scenes is vital in training as there were obstacles to overcome before accessing the scene.
Limerick Fire Department junior and cadets stayed back at our station to review donning of airpacks and proper communication while using.
