Guilford Firefighters Participate in Special Olympics Torch Run

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

In support of the 2026 Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut, Guilford Fire Department personnel joined the Guilford Police Department and Special Olympics participants on June 5.

To spread awareness and support for Special Olympics competitors around the state, participants carried the "Flame of Hope" through the neighborhood. Every year, first responders, athletes, and community members come together to support initiatives that give people with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in sports and competition.
