The City of New York Fire Department honored Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by showcasing personnel who exemplify this year's theme, "Power in Unity: Strengthening Communities Together."

Firefighter Amber Villegas of Engine Company 308 was honored by officials for her dedication to fostering close ties with the communities the FDNY serves. In order to increase trust and participation between firemen and citizens around New York City, Villegas stated that consistency and connection are crucial.
