Waltham Ladder 2's new company logo pays homage to the city's history and its nickname, "Watch City." The Waltham Watch Company established its factory in Waltham in 1854, becoming the first company to manufacture watches on an assembly line. It was awarded the gold medal at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. Over its operational years, the company produced more than 35 million watches, clocks, and instruments before closing in 1957.
