Danbury, CT - The City of Danbury Fire Department enhanced its operational readiness through a collaborative training initiative with Modzelewski’s Towing, combining hands-on skill development with a project that directly benefits the community.

During the operation, crews worked together to install the City’s emergency services boat docks, using the opportunity as a practical training evolution.

Firefighters applied rigging techniques, utilized a range of hand tools, and reinforced teamwork in a real-world setting—turning a necessary infrastructure project into a valuable learning experience.

The joint effort also allowed personnel to build familiarity with the equipment and capabilities of local towing and recovery professionals.

This cross-training is especially important, as both agencies frequently operate side by side during emergency incidents, particularly at complex accident scenes.

With the docks in place, the department is further preparing for upcoming marine operations, ensuring readiness for coordinated responses on the water.
