Branchville, NJ — April 18th — The Frankford Township Fire Department honored members and supporters from the emergency services community at its yearly awards luncheon. With milestones ranging from 10 to 50 years, sixteen firefighters were recognized for a total of 280 years of service. Life Member status, which is frequently used in volunteer departments to acknowledge long-term devotion, was awarded to members who reached the age of 20. Andy Retz, the former chief, received recognition for his 50 years of service.
The department also acknowledged former Chief Rob Peer for his leadership, pointing out that he had previously worked for the Towaco Fire Department before rising to the position of Chief in Frankford. Events like this strengthen solid mutual assistance relationships while promoting member retention, morale, and ongoing engagement across volunteer fire groups.
