Hillside Firefighters Assisted at Elizabeth Structure Fire

Elizabeth, N.J. — May 30 — Members of the Hillside FMBA assigned to Tour 1 responded to a reported working structure fire with confined people in the 1000 block of North Broad Street. As soon as they arrived, firefighters joined the rescue and suppression efforts. While fire attack teams tried to limit the fire, crews searched the building and successfully evacuated its occupants. Without any more delay, the issue was brought under control.
Firefighters, EMS workers, and command staff must coordinate their response to structural fires involving reported entrapment. According to department officials, the event illustrated how crucial teamwork, communication, and training are in emergency situations. To finish rescue operations, safeguard adjacent exposures, and end the situation safely, several agencies collaborated.
