Branchville, NJ — April 16th — During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Frankford Township Fire Department honored dispatchers at the Sussex County Sheriff's 911 Center. Telecommunicators respond to 911 calls, collect important information, and send out law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. In order to support operations on the scene, they also organize resources, keep an eye on radio traffic, and provide updates.
Serving as the county's main public safety answering point, the center handles both emergency and non-emergency calls. In order to keep personnel informed during crises and to preserve situational awareness, dispatchers are essential. Their efforts help all agencies respond in a fast and safe manner. The acknowledgement emphasizes how crucial dispatch staff are to day-to-day operations and how they support coordinated emergency response.
