ATTLEBORO, MA — April 13th — In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Attleboro Fire Department emphasized the importance of dispatchers in emergency response.

As the initial point of contact for any emergency, dispatchers collect vital information, organize resources, and provide callers instructions prior to the arrival of teams. In order to facilitate safe and effective operations, they also keep in touch with units in the field.

Telecommunicators are an essential conduit between the community and fire and emergency medical services, working around the clock. Throughout an event, their efforts guarantee prompt reaction and continuity.
