This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

One firefighter was injured after a fire broke out at a furniture store in Paterson on the evening of April 13th. The fire started at 167 Market Street around 6:30pm. Firefighters had a hard time getting to the source due to maze-like conditions inside a sub basement of the building. Deputy Chief AJ Woods transmitted 4 alarms with several special calls for units, including special units from Hackensack. At one point, companies had to drill through a floor and break through almost 12-inches of concrete flooring to get to the fire. Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh praised firefighters for keeping the fire from spreading. Sayegh also said one firefighter was hurt after he fell down. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
